<<if laying a bet, I'd say the deal will go through>> ...

... and if not, Mr. Cheung Kong and Mr. Hutchison will step forward, mysteriously laden with new cash, and close the deal in any case.

The latest G and M article on energy trusts is on the whole fair, but keeps harping on the effects of $30 oil, which is seen as almost a done deal. Has anyone ever seen an energy trust article contemplating $60 oil? The author as usual gives the quick and dirty explanation of ROC, but I no longer expect to see it described correctly as a tax break. I am buying into EEE.b with my mid month distributions.

Looks like someone took the NY Times article on COS as a "sell" signal.

I trust there is no bad news leaking out that has not yet been announced. That tar sand is messy stuff.

I may buy more OST.UN if it gets cheaper again, however.

Anyone have any thoughts on the general lack of increases in CRT distributions? My general impression, and for the ones I own, the payout is being "maintained" and I only see a couple of small increases. I would've thought that with such a big increase in both the price of oil and nat gas they'd be making more profits and have more cash to pass along. Is there a typical lag time before we enjoy payout increases?
