I'm currently covered under my spouse's small business group plan, but rate increases on that plan have me shopping.

I recently looked at what our local Blue Cross offered to individuals. It was a horrible plan, not even worth considering... far less coverage, excessive copays, low limits and far higher rates than they offer large groups - and I'm in perfect health. In essence, they offer the individual coverage because state regulations here require it, but the coverage is so bad and so expensive it's meaningless. The Blues want the large groups - no one else.

Kerry's plan would change that. If the Blues want the federal business, they will need to get off their high horse and offer the same plan to individuals.
