You are dead wrong Maurice.

My youngest child turned 36 yo on Saturday.

If John Kerry or John Edwards want to discuss one of my children's sex life with him or her, I have no objection. My kids are very capable of defending themselves.

That is not what happened. John Edwards discussed VP Cheney's daughter's sex life with him (not her) and in a very public venue.

If John Edwards discussed either of my adult daughter's sex lives at a nationally televised political event, I would have stepped across the stage, smiled, and broke his nose.

Likewise John Kerry talked about Ms Cheney's sex life in public with her Uncle George. If Kerry spoke to me about my partner's daughter's sex life in front of the cameras at a nationally publicized event, I would have busted his nose too.

I doubt any jury in America would have convicted me of assault for defending my daughter's or my partner's daughter's honor.

Americans are outraged and are just now beginning to understand why.

Give it some more thought Maurice. Maybe you Kiwis will get it eventually too.

Mq-

I'm astounded that you would make this remark-

"Haven't they got something serious to discuss? Is that the level of Republican interest, obsessing over a very minor slight? Pitiful."

First it was John Edwards who referred to Mary Cheney in a not so gracious way.
Then it was JFK who in a most condescending way referred to the VP's daughter.
JFK having never met Mary Cheney put his own words in her mouth. That is what I call pitiful.

You, Mq, choose to criticize the parent's reaction rather than your Democratic comrades. Pitiful indeed.
