RE: "Liberal America must stop... and wait for the Bible Belt to catch up. That's what the Bush presidency is/was all about."

(sarcasm on)
This country needs to go back to the 50s. Women belong in the kitchen.

When were women given the right to vote? Erase that too while Bush is at it.

In fact, let's just bring the Taliban to the USA - they would fit right in with Bush.

RE: "George W Bush is smart"

He is not smart.

But I do see your point. I think you're right - this country probably did move too fast into the future for certain segments of the population so it is taking a pause and a step backward to adjust to all the change over the past few decades, before it eventually leaps ahead.

But is this pace awfully slow for me.

Amy J

Re: The guy with the biggest military in the world, and larger than the next military by 5x is, by definition, strong. Why doesn't George ever emphasize his intelligent leadership???

But George W Bush is smart... His political savvy helped him keep the country --YOUR country-- together... Don't you see that more and more Southerners feel alienated in their own country?

I see that Southerners feel alienated. However, Bush has not kept the country together......I don't think he/Rove are as smart as you think. The reason being.....non southerners now feel very alienated.

Don't you see that more and more white Americans just can't keep up with the Kerrys, the Heinz's and their liberal friends?

Yes, I see that as well. However, I don't blame the Kerrys et al. Technology is mainly the culprit.

The US is currently in the midst of a big, ideological BACKLASH against the liberal revolution of the 1960s and 1970s... Somehow, it's because the liberals have been so successful at implementing their social engineering --civil rights, affirmative action,...-- from the 1960s onwards that today Liberal America must stop... and wait for the Bible Belt to catch up. That's what the Bush presidency is/was all about.

Yes, that's part of it too. Liberals fully implemented the ideals of the Constitution. However, that happened over a nearly 50 year period. How long will it take the South to catch up?

Well said..........I don't like hearing it but its something I've realized for some time. In fact, some friends and I were discussing it this weekend. Its what makes these times scary. The Republic may not be able to take the strain!
