He would almost certainly lose his job." Nope. She has not been charged by either the state or the fed with extortion. Only the state or the fed can charge you with a crime and put you in jail; Bill O'Reilly does not possess that authority. It is literally impossible for her to be convicted of extortion and sent to prison, given the present circumstances. Also, the standard for extortion is whether she had a plausible legal basis for her demand, which would be easily met, since she has tapes of the conversations.

Actually I rather liked this guy in that he was the only person who espoused more right wing biases who said that IF it was pr oven that there were no weapons of you know what by now... that he would withdraw his support of Bush. He at least laid it out. He comes from L.I. where I worked for many years and pulled himself up by his boot straps.. Irish family and all. Interesting autobiography. However, to get to what you posted ..another ugly mess of he says and she says. However, the tapes should help her case. And I agree with you.. I don't think her suit is frivolous but the amount she is asking for.. is.. Although allegedly that was his yearly salary... Good money for saying what you think isn't it ? There are some on these boards who could do well at that.
