Grace, yes, I had a lot of colleagues that were at my level, higher than my level from this highly successful government jobs program. One person now heads up a facility for around hundred mentally disabled people. Another person eventually pursued his own business. All but one of them were able to save up money to go to college. The one that didn't go to college, managed to get a job out of the inner city though.

So, yes, the program was highly successful.

I realize your earlier experiences in life were painful, but it shouldn't make you compelled to feel the need to invalidate the success of a highly successful govt job program. Someone that doesn't have a need to invalidate a truth, might instead say, "please tell me why it was such a highly successful govt job program - I'd like to understand this since I have seen only bad results in my area. Why did you see good results in your area?"

I think it's better to pursue successful solutions, than invalidate success stories.

Regards,
Amy J
