Mark Twain's actual quote is ironic, "An ethical man is a Christian holding four aces." Obviously implying that when it's clear you're going to win the game it's easy to take the moral high road and avoid cheating. More appropriate Twain comments might be: "He is an experienced, industrious, ambitious, and quite often picturesque liar." "The human race is a race of cowards; and I am not only marching in that procession but carrying a banner."
