Believe what you will michael. In iran there is a euro effort re: nukes. In NK there are six party regional talks. What should we have done there--nuke em?
In iraq there was no alternative other than so-called containment and as dulfer points out with sanctions being violated left and right and the UN corrupt, there really was no other alternative other than to live with saddam out of control at some time in the future. So there were not wmds--big deal. Want me to say it again for you--everybody including you thought he had 'em. Did bush exaggerate--sure. Did fdr exaggerate in getting us into WW2--sure. What about the gulf of tonkin, the bay of piggies. Its just not perfect michael and its not only republicans that are fuckups. mike
