Good things like the Govt is my Mommy and Daddy and decide whether I can engage in activities of my own accord without clearing it with them first because they think I might hurt myself?

It's not both ways, liberal is not the same as kindness...

If you want to use your own argument, then why wouldn't you embrace communism? That's even more liberal than kerry... liberal is not a code word for being kind and generous with people... liberal means big government should exist to control every aspect of your life, much like communism, which is the extreme liberal position, there are no poor, there are no rich, everyone is a worker ant and everyone gets the same thing... if you notice around the world, the Soviet Union is gone and communism has proven to be a failed experiment... and so has liberalism done the same thing...

<< You can't have it both ways, bud. Either he's a liberal with all the good things that means to most people, or he's not. >>

You might think that liberal policies are good for most people, or particularly poor people or other people that need assistance for some reason, but that's not the case.

In the short run, liberal policies might help some people, but in the long run they weaken society, weaken the economy and eventually hold back progress on a large scale. Progress and economic strength bring improved standards of living for everyone. Liberalism over the long run has a negative effect on the standard of living for everyone, even the people that they claim to be helping.
