Do you have a specific date in mind

I don't know, I was going to say when the leader of a nation went on tv and said "I did not have .... relations with that woman", but I think it went even further back to the "I am not a crook" days.

Somehow, all politicians not telling the truth became an acceptable reality. Today, a politician caught in a lie is like "Dog bites Man", but if a politician was caught telling an unpopular truth, that's like "Man bites Dog".

Of course, this spreads today to all layers society, with parents afraid to tell their kids to be honest, when they themselves do not operate with the highest ethics.

A while back, I had the shock of hearing on radio about a woman who wants to get her son an iPod. She and her family terrorised an old widow into buying magazine subscriptions, and I kept thinking --- this is the tipping point, it's too late now, this whole society needs a good wake up call.
