I have to admit that the Kurds have had a tough time and I wouldn't mind them having their own country just for payback. Turkey however is apparently the major opponent to the idea. Considering though they created considerable instability that allowed a lot of bad guys to get away by not letting the US make a simultaneous assault on Baghdad from the North, their desires should probably be taken with a grain of salt.
