At least we don't have this here (see below), though our Congressional leaders certainly showed poor behavior and disrespect to people from a different country ("French Fries"). Name calling is worse than throwing food, I believe.

But this is bad too:

Taiwan's Rowdy Lawmakers Stage Food Fight

Tue Oct 26,10:20 AM ET Strange News - AP

TAIPEI, Taiwan - They've fought with fists. They've thrown paper at each other. And on Tuesday, Taiwan's rowdy lawmakers had an old-fashioned food fight.

Legislators began chucking white cardboard takeout lunch boxes full of rice, meat, hard-boiled eggs and vegetables at each other during a heated debate over whether Taiwan should spend billions on weapons sold by the United States.

It was difficult to figure out who started the battle.

Idiots don't become fighter pilots and don't become Harvard MBAs. Idiots don't take substantial failing businesess and turn them into pots of gold.

There has never been one shred of evidence put forth to suggest that Bush is NOT smart.

What there has been is some mangling of words. This is not indicative of intellect; and frankly, some of the most brilliant people I've known in my life have done the same sorts of things. You just can't make a judgment about intelligence based on this one attribute.

What is it, besides the liberal mantra, that suggests to you Bush is other than intelligent?

I know this is between you and Amy and I am sure she will come up with her own observations but let me throw some in:

**A weak command of English...its more than getting tongue twisted......he is often grammatically incorrect and interchanges words that are phonetically correct but have mean different things. Not a big sign of intelligence.

**He does not have a very agile mind........can not handle impromptu press conferences. Often gets confused when the subject is complicated.

**Clearly, he is fairly weak at debating an opponent. Has difficulty putting together his thoughts and presenting them well.

**Has a fairly rigid approach to things......lacks flexibility. He appears unable to change course as new data comes in. Not a typical hallmark of intelligence.

**Most of the projects/policies he's implemented while in office appear mostly ideologically based with little real input from genuine scientific and/or professional sources, or with any real forethought on his part.

**His understanding of human interactions and the art of foreign diplomacy appears very limited. Often complicated, they require a sophisticated mind to do them well.

**Finally, you mention he's been successful at business. In terms of the oil business, it was mostly a scam and it was not administered by him in any case.........he was on the board of directors and was given some work to do within the company. As for the TX Rangers, he was part of a partnership.......there is no evidence that he was 'the brains' behind the operation.

As governor, CJ and TP have suggested repeatedly that the job was mostly about show and what programmatic stuff he did implement, left a lot to be desired.

You rely on things like fighter pilots and Harvard MBAs. First of all, we don't know if he completed those things honestly or not. We do know that his grade point ave. was fairly weak at Yale.

But if he did do them honestly, all he would need is an IQ of average or slightly above average intelligence. The hard part about graduate school is getting in......that's where daddy came into play. Getting C's is not that hard at all once you're in. As for fighter pilot, well I knew a couple of guys who became fighter pilots. They were B- to B students in high school.

I will agree with you that he's not an idiot but highly intelligent? I don't think so. And what we deserve in the White House is not simply intelligence, but brilliance.

And if you are as smart as you claim you are, you know that to be true.

How about his inability to correctly pronounce the world "nuclear"?
