You think so? The old saying comes to mind, "if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail". If AQ had stealth bombers and nukes, they would not have to resort to suicide attacks. In fact, I doubt they would even bother blowing anything up; Osama would just fly on board a nuke armed stealth and land in Washington for "discussions" and we'd treat them according to their "stature". So I don't find your particular examples to the contrary very convincing.
