Well, at 5.7" X 4.2" X 1.5", I doubt it. That's one heckof a big shirt pocket!

Disagree, based on what's already available out there. Here is just one example:

jobodigital.com;

It seems that Jobo site backs-up Allen's contention that the iPod would get too bulky with flash card slots (and larger screen).

From your reference and from the Apple sites:

The Jobo is about 36 cubic inches while the iPod Photo is 7.4 cubic inches. So the Jobo is about 4.9 times bigger.

The Jobo weighs 15 ounces while the iPod weighs 6.4 ounces. The Jobo is 2.3 times heavier.

Michal -

Jeff and Dan have already said what I would have said about the size issue. The subsequent discussion about how Apple could have enabled direct download from a digital camera ignores the fact that both the processor and the RAM that iPods have would still be inadequate for image processing.

So to make it work, you'd have to bulk up the unit in terms of size, and dramatically reduce battery life. Since there are already large, heavy alternatives with lousy battery life, I can't see why Apple would want to produce that kind of product.
