For all I know they are hunting Osama's sons, just as they are hunting Osama.

Saddam's sons died in a firefight. It was not a matter of deterrence, in any case, but of getting important officials in the regime. Saddam is alive.

I just got finished saying that deterrence was not very effective when dealing with terrorists, that it is better to take the offensive and destroy them and their assets.

You would fit so well in Saudi, if only you were to convert to Islam. Thanks for making my point about the similarities between the two sides. BTW, I have repeatedly heard various "spiritual" leaders of Hezbollah and other fundamentalist groups say they don't care what goes on in America and that to them the West is not much more than a supermarket. All they want is for US to leave ME alone. And this is yet another similarity on outlook I see.
