There should not be regulations written into treaties that encourage population growth. There are plenty of people in the world already.

What kind of pollution is China's old Coal fired plants producing. CO2 is not a poison, plants love it.

yes, that thought occurred to me
as i was typing that list.

in any case, global warming is a
very serious threat to the health of
our planet.

it seems as though only those who
have had the experience of seeing
our lovely planet from space realize
how fragile she is:

"they say if you have experiments to
run, stay away from the window.
for me, preoccupied with the Drop
Dynamics Module, it wasn't until the
last day of our flight that i even had a
chance to look out. but when i did, i
was truly overwhelmed.

a chinese tale tells of some men
sent to harm a young girl who, upon
seeing her beauty, became her
protectors rather than her violators.
that's how i felt seeing the earth for
the first time. i could not help but
love and cherish her."

Another blame which has been put on China unfairly is that most of cokes (60% or so) used in steel production have been produced by China. Many harmful pollutants are accompanies with producing coke, and developed countries want their own land to be cleaner and have stricter environmental law, so move most of coke production out. Many of them move to China. And since last year, China wants to limit coke production somewhat, thus has to export less to US and EU. But both US and EU complained and even threaten of law suit.

Not to mention how much consumer goods used all over the world have been produced by China. And these manufacturing pollutes the environment a great deal. And how many of people in developed countries think about they should consume less when they blame China for polluting??? Maybe a few, definitely not many!

It will be laughable and hypocritical not to consider all these factors when talking about emission problems.
