Your man Kerry voted to authorize the war, but then didn't even want to fund it. lol. If it had been up to him, we would have driven in there with spitballs (per his own democrat colleage Sen. Zell Miller, D-SC).

Unlike the situations in Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Bosnia, Saddam also was believed to have chemical weapons and to be ready to use them. As I recall, when the ground war began we wanted to be able to move quickly and with rapid mobility against his forces, in part so they couldn't lob chemicals at large numbers of our forces bogged down in slow-moving, huge numbers.
