When I first signed up on SI (when it was free) I used my real name too. It would not be hard for some to find it here on SI. Then I had it changed because I found out a search for my name on the internet would turn up pages of posts from SI! That wasn't good. There have been some ugly moments here, but the worst have been about stocks, not politics or religion for me at least. I think most everyone who comes here is interested in making money, is above average intelligence with a few exceptions <g>, and would not go to the trouble to bother anyone.

E, your post about Bush and the debate is very well written. I enjoyed it. I had similar feelings while watching all the debates, but never bothered to articulate them. I can't understand why there is no real rebellion amongst the public to Neocon garbage, and why anyone would entertain for a moment actually voting for Bush and company. I think the American public must be extremely stupid and ill-read, with no critical thinking skills.

Walter Cronkite's comment that Karl Rove must be behind Osama's speech yesterday was definitely wry, but perhaps true.

I feel pretty funny using my real name here. I assume it is easy to change that, and I probably will.
