Let me know when Taiwan calls Beijing and decides to break away It doesn't have to. Taiwan already controls itself. There is no need to piss off a powerful and potentially aggressive neighbor about it. Thirty years ago this would have been a semi-interesting discussion. What changed in the last 30 years? US recognition of the PRC? Taiwan's sovereignty (or any countries sovereignty) is not derived from US diplomatic statements. Also the US does not have the official position that the PRC is the government of Taiwan or the the ROC is not sovereign. Tim
