Yes, E, we are definitely all going to hell in a hand basket now (as my grandmother used to say). In my neighborhood, which is generally considered friendly and civilized, there is lots of campaign sign stealing and mutilating. What concerns me even more than the vandalism and civil rudeness is that protestors cannot even be heard at Bush events, which are open only to his supporters. When you consider that presidents are actually on their GOOD behavior in their first terms, it is hard to imagine what another one would bring in terms of loss of freedom of speech, etc. It really cracks me up that Bush so genuinely believes he is spreading freedom abroad and that makes him so happy, while he is ending it here at home. Yes, freedom is on the move--away from America!
