Tejek, CNN's senior editor is truly struggling with the translation of bin Laden's video and is presenting an inaccurate view of his message, I think. She (incorrectly?) claims bin Laden said, "in order to avoid further attacks, the United States should not attack al Qaeda", when in fact I believe he said "in order to avoid further attacks, the United States should not attack us", i.e. Muslims, i.e. the USA should not support Israel's attack on Muslims like the US govt did when Israel attacked Lebanon's towers in 1982. CNN really, really struggles with his message - it is almost as if CNN is intentionally avoiding the key part about his message - they struggle with saying he attacks us because our USA policy supports Israel to attack Muslim countries. Why doesn't CNN state what his message is? Why does CNN always try to avoid stating this: "if USA/Israel attacks Muslims, then bin Laden will attack USA. If USA/Israel stops attacking Muslims, then bin Laden will not attack USA." Basically, bin Laden is saying that he attacked the USA because USA govt policy supports Israel's attack on Muslim countries. I don't know why that is so hard for CNN to say. It's almost like they are trying hard to dodge the policy issue, avoid stating to us what is the underlying issue with USA policy.
