David, the conservation started because I was genuinely curious why you felt Bush was intelligent. Bush is not known to be intelligent and I do not know any Democrats or Republcans that think he is intelligent, so was genuinely curious in your answer. "Bush is not known to be intelligent"? Please tell me how you know this. INTELLIGENT people can provide links to support their position. INTELLIGENT people will provide links from CREDIBLE sources who can support their positions. Anybody can call anyone stupid. Showing it to be fact is a different matter; in this case, it would require one to overcome a TON of powerful evidence to the contrary. You said you felt Bush was intelligent because he went to Harvard (Daddy got him in) Idiotic remark. Daddy didn't get him OUT. you think he's smart because he operated a business (Daddy got him in and maneuvered a buyout, even though the company was bleeding redder than a dotbomb). The man took over a failing MLB team and turned it into a money machine. He syndicated the purchase from Eddie Chiles for $89 million in '89. One of the worst baseball franchises in existence. During the ensuing years Bush puts together a deal to have Arlington approve and build a new stadium, and in 1996 the new stadium revenues are the best in baseball. In 1998 the Rangers are sold for $250M, the 2nd most ever paid for a baseball franchise. His dad had no involvement, WHATSOEVER, in this deal. Bush made it happen. Ask any of his partners. Bush has cheated his way through life and he is dishonest. Please, if you're going to level such accusations, how about a little evidence (and please don't roll out the Harken nonsense; you don't have the business background to discuss it intelligently)? Hell, I find him to be the most honest president to hold the office in my lifetime. There has been NOT ONE bonafide scandal during his tenure other than politically motivated ones the Left has spewed, none of which have proven to have basis in fact. His administration has been flawless in this respect. Bush has lied to the American people over WMD and yet you still claim he is honest. How can you claim he is honest, when the facts show he cheats and is dishonest? There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest Bush lied. Furthermore, the last week has been spent by his opponent bashing him over weapons that IAEA had determined to be WMD or components thereof. Obviously, WMD had existed just prior to the war. Look, you and I disagree about Bush. But you are guilty of character assassination. Just in discussing things with you here, I find your intelligence to be below average. But I have no evidence of it; it is just my personal view, and is extremely biased by my belief that liberals are generally stupid people (with only a few exceptions, I believe liberals lack the intellect and reasoning ability I find in most conservatives). You have the same biases. You have heard the liberal line that "Bush is stupid", and as most liberals do, you have bought it, hook, line and sinker. You people do not have the gumption to do your homework. You can't back up your assertions. You just follow the Al Frankens of the world. That's fine. But don't confuse your tagging along behind Franken with intellect, and don't impute to yourselves any ability to determine Bush's intellect.
