I'm not so sure the Fed will aggressively fight a slowdown in the first post-election year. In fact I rather doubt it. IMHO they will administer a bit of castor oil before aggressively inflating again by late 2006

Your statement seem contradictory.
Are we fighting a slowdown or inflation.
If they are NOT fighting a slowdown they will let interest rates rise. That is fighting inflation NOW! That is the reverse of your second idea of "agressively fingting inflation in 2006".

So are they fighting inflation now or 2006?
If it is 2006 then arent they fighting a SLOWDOWN now?
You flipped slowdown in one idea with inflation in another and the net result makes zero sense to me.

Please clarify.
