The entire world's production of RDX is about 8,000 tons a year. You sure you want to claim that Iraq had in it's possession 5 years of the total world's production?

What is the relevance of that. If it was RDX it could be TNT or C4 or Semtex. It wouldn't make much difference. The majority of high explosive produced in the world is not RDX.

And sure, the administration has scared up some sources that indicate the amount might be as little as 3 tons. But they also have claimed the Russians took it all to Syria, among other claims. Their credibility is dropping like a rock on this issue...

No one is very credible on this issue right now. Its almost all biased interpretation and grabbing any fact that helps make a case. Those claiming that Bush let 377 tons of explosives fall in to terrorist hands, don't know that there was 377 tons at that location or that Saddam didn't move it before the invasion, or that terrorist got to it. Those trying to defend Bush againt flimsily backed charges use their own flimsy evidence, to claim that there is no problem or the problem is insignifigant.

Whether or not their was 377 tons there using this to bash Bush is almost entirely partisan politics. How and when an ammo dump gets searched is decided at the level of the president or right below him.

But the 380 or so tons of RDX and HMX are potentially more dangerous in the hands of terrorists and insurgents. A pound or so of it is enough to down an airliner.

And with or without that 377 tons or 3 tons or whatever the resistance in Iraq, and terrorists around the world have plenty of pounds.
