They're selling tomatos like that here now, too, at a slightly lesser price. There is a little note on the price board saying their doing it as a result of the high prices. Produce has gone through the roof lately. I'll be interested in those greenhouses, too. :) This is city living now, and mostly all filled up, but a few blocks away there is still some open land and a few cows, plus a swatch of land where they rent garden plots. If my cylinders are clicking next spring, I'd like get one. We have room here for a few tomatoes, squash, and peppers plants, but not to grow enough for canning. For peaches and apples we hit local orchards this year. For all the trouble an orchard is, I kinda of like it that way. :)

Oh, and dad went up to the old house a few days ago to help them get set up on the heating system (the heat is diesel that runs through the two water heaters, and has to be switched in boxes at the water heaters and stuff), and they are really loving it. M, the wife doc, doesn't care to go anywhere on her days off, she just wants to be there. And C, the husband, recently went back to CA to see his mother but couldn't wait to get back. He did let the peaches rot this year, but maybe by next year he'll be up to speed. It didn't take him long to realize he needed to hire child-care a couple of days a week so he could get out and keep the place up. Dad was beaming when he got home because they love it so much. And they told me I could come for rocks. That was the worst for me... I didn't have time to get my rocks. lol. Seems to be working out great, though, which is pleasing.

Ah, a food fight! A tomato war simmering between the US and Canada. Well, I like family farms, so I'm rooting for your side.
