It needs a delicate balance, Hui ethnic groups were known for their braveness and militant<g> in Chinese history. And HeNan does not even have a big Hui population as far as I know.

Although not until I hear from some people who presented there, I would not believe the number of deaths in that NYT report<g>. Western media are known for the exaggeration on this kind things<g>.

About two weeks ago, in WanZhou, Sichuan, there was a riot, sort of. All overseas reports said there were >10,000 were involved. But until I read something written by a person who lives in Wanzhou, and was right there when the incidence happened, and he said it was true that many people were there, but 99% were just looking, without any action. The actual number of people who joined the riot was only a couple of dozen.

Snowshoe, that's an odd report. <BEIJING, Oct. 31 - Violent clashes between members of the Muslim Hui ethnic group and the majority Han group left nearly 150 people dead and forced authorities to declare martial law in a section of Henan Province in central China, journalists and witnesses in the region said today.

The fighting flared late last week and continued into the weekend after a Hui taxi driver fatally struck a 6-year-old Han girl, prompting recriminations between different ethnic groups in neighboring villages, these people said.

One person who was briefed on the incident by the police said that 148 people had been killed, including 18 police officers sent to quell the violence.

We hear from Yiwu the Mad that all Chinese in China and abroad all think the same way. So to have disturbances and to the extent of actual killing can't be true. That is obviously a western media fantasy to make China look less than perfect.

All people in China are living in peace, light, harmony, happiness, peace, prosperity, longevity, fun and love and western liars can't make it any different.

It's as perfect as the Stepford Wives, except these preternaturally happy Chinese are married to the state. They are of one mind and Yiwu knows what that mind is - without even having to interview them, or hold a referendum [why bother when they all think the same].
