NC,
In an earlier post i expressed a view that something in bin ladens address or at least the part that was aired, that has been overlooked by the media, may have helped kerry. OBL didnt look much like a terrorist--no gun and in offical dress uniform. Isolationism and appeasement are now hallmarks of the new left but have historically been conserative(paleo) positions. Perhaps, just perhaps some conservative/moderate americans were beguiled by bin into believing he would call the war off if we ceded some territory (SA) to him and left him alone. These same folks may even believe and hell it may be true that bin laden at least in the short run would guaranttee oil to the west in such a scenario.
Chamberlain believed that of Hitler right before the war and if one goes back to pre-WW2 america, there were millions of pro-german bundists, Taft isolationists etc in this country. So if this is right bin laden may have peeled off a very small amount of bush voters, and many of them in the swing states. Does this make any sense at all to you? This is the only way i can explain the polls moving to kerry not bush after obl. mike
