I think any turnout above 115 million will be incredible and will mean a Kerry victory. I thought Sioux was smoking a little too much of the funny stuff when he picked 128 million. Now my pick, what I thought was a ridiculously high number (120.4 million), is on the low side of the various projections!

We sure are an optimistic bunch. One thing is certain, it will be record turnout in numbers. In '92, about 55% of registered voters participated. That is the high for recent years. If that same percentage vote this year, that will be around 121 million voters (hence my guess).

Although we will see strong turnout in every state, I think only the battleground states (about 11 states) will see astonishing numbers. For this reason, I don't think turnout will reach anywhere near 60% nationwide - the percentage required for 132 Million+ voters.

Just some thoughts ... I hope I am proven a pessimist.

Best to all.
