Thomas...Afghanistan WAS easy. We dropped a ton of cluster bombs and other ordinance and the Northern Alliance did the dirty work on the ground. They DID hold the election and I think that speaks more to the innate incompetence of the Taliban than it does to any genius of this administration. Comparing "bad locations" in the U.S. to travel outside Kabul seems disengenuous at best, Thomas. What I'm saying is that Gore or ANY other president would have accomplished AT LEAST as much success in Afghanistan. So making it seem like such a fine example of Bush's competence doesn't seem justified. It MAY even represent just ONE more example of his INcompetence.
