TWY,

Can someone provide a reasonable estimate of the number and approx size(mm^2) of each chip AMD will provide in Q3/Q4 05?

90nm chips to be sold in Q3/Q4 2005 are:
Winchester (512K L2): 84 mm^2 (official) 60%
Opteron, San Diego? (1MB L2): 115 mm^2 (official) 10%
Sempron (256K L2): 69 mm^2 (calculated) 25%
Dual Core: (2 x 1MB L2): 215 mm^2 (???) 5%

A couple of wild cards are E0 stepping, potential increase in number of metal layers and a very long shot - shrinking of SRAM cell sizes. These possible changes may affect the die sizes, and may go into production in Q3 or Q4.
