Ted, Did I say a "God figure"? I guess you didn't. Never mind. I said they wanted to make him head of their church like the Pope is the head of the Catholics. I haven't heard of that. First of all, that would be rather unprecedented, given that Bush isn't an ordained pastor. I'm not even sure he's a deacon. Maybe it was an honorary title they wanted to give Bush? And second, there is no equivalent of the Pope in any Protestant church that I know of. In fact, that would be contradictory to the foundations of Protestantism, wouldn't you agree? Maybe there are administrative heads, selected with the help of prayer and due process, but that's as far as it goes. Tenchusatsu
