Is the Texas GOP worried about 30 votes tipping the electoral vote away from George W. Bush?

Texas allows the mentally retarded the right to vote as long as a judge hasn't ruled the individual "incompetent". Angelina County GOP headquarters reports that some Lufkin State School employees bribed 30 retarded students with ice cream. They also alleged improper use of a state van to carry students to the poll for early voting.

Probably most of the students and low-paid state mental health workers are minorities. If true, the GOP is probably mad they didn't get the chance to buy ice cream, but then that would mean Republicans going to work at the state school for minimum wage.
