Am surprised the news network's mathematicians haven't figured this out yet.

It's disappointing this country is so backwards when it comes to women's rights, that it would actually vote another 4 years of this backwardness. 8 years is a long time for women to take of inequality. The sad thing is, when a backwards person hears the phrase "women's rights" they actually think it equates to abortion rights because they are so clueless about all of women's rights being violated. Only a person that is so stunningly clueless about all the rights that women do not have (such as equality of medical research), would think of women's rights in only that sense, when in fact there are many, many rights women should have but don't (such as equality of medical research in studies.)

My sister's husband voted for Bush. He told her tonite that her vote for Kerry neutralized his. He said she shouldn't be allowed to vote because she doesn't follow the issues as well as he does. She's thinking of filing for divorce.

It sucks. You and Z are probably right. Bush has won.

>Unfortunately, the pace of progress is awfully slow when you have to wait for the rest of the country to catch up. Nearly a decade feels like a person's entire life.

This country is a much worse place than I ever would've thought.

You're right. Perhaps a middle Eastern country would be better.

Amy,

Re: "It's disappointing this country is so backwards when it comes to women's rights,
that it would actually vote another 4 years of this backwardness."

Your "bitterness" and "ignorance" is striking ... Hard to believe based on your
past well reasoned posts. I guess W has "touched" your "sensitive spot". <ggg>

Make It So,

Amy, It's disappointing this country is so backwards when it comes to women's rights, that it would actually vote another 4 years of this backwardness.

I remember Maureen Dowd saying that feminism died during the Lewinsky scandal.

Hillary 2008.

re: such as equality of medical research

I am somewhat familiar with spending on medical research and to be honest I do not see what you see so specifics, please.

BTW lifespan of women used to be shorter than man and right now its significantly longer. That fact is hard to argue with, don't you think?
