Doubt our country will be quite ready for an assertive woman ("snippy", "power hungry") in 4 years. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Amy, after tonite, its not likely you are wrong. When half a nation can vote for someone like Bush, electing a woman is off probably a quarter of a century. These people believe that Laura Bush is the ideal woman.

You might be surprised. Though her day is probably past, I suspect a Jeane Kirkpatrick candidacy would've done quite well. Of course, very few Democrats would've voted for her! Just because the nation doesn't want a Hillary Clinton(whew!) doesn't mean they're not ready for the right woman.
