But note, putin gets the WOT but he didnt buy into iraq. Some say that is because of russian interests in iraq and that may be partially true. Personally i think he knew what was coming given his KGB background and a keener knowledge of iraq. You know that i think the war has been run poorly. It may turn out the other ways to run it wont work much better.
Take a shot at Faluja, ramadi etc, have the election and give them an exit date so if they are able they will get their act together. If they cant its the meatloaf solution--2 outta three aint bad--shia south, kurd north and civil war in the triangle. We cant have this war last this whole term. It will destroy this country and thus deflect our efforts in the WOT. Imagine vietnam demonstration and add domestic terror to the mix. Iraqs not worth that. Bush needs to know this and the first step is for rummy to retire. Reps have chips in the senate--can apppoint hagel or lugar as DOD, and when renquist retires he can appoint Hatch. All have republican governors so seats will not be lost i believe. Get real neocon--our unholy alliance to win the election will not last. You guys have to compromise on iraq. mike

edit am joking no harshness intended but i think we will split if bush doesnt alter course on iraq
