In retrospect...Gephardt as VP might have been able to help Kerry a lot more than Edwards did. While the general rule is that VP's don't win any states for you...(and certainly Edwards accomplished just that)...I think Gephardt on the ticket would have meant a clear effort by the Democrats in Missouri which would also have helped in Iowa. Even without Ohio as it turns out, Kerry would have won 270-268 if he could have carried Missouri and Iowa instead. (Gotta love Monday morning quarterbacking).
