A lot of Californians don't know there are any other States besides Nevada (gambling), Arizona (boating on the Colorado), Hawaii, and Mexico (what? You mean Mexico isn't a State?) Now I don't feel so bad that people living even a couple of miles south of the Canada-US border don't have a clue that they live within 50 miles of the capital city of Canada. ..lol

You know, when Dan was interviewing for his clerking job after second year law, he had an offer from a Roanoke firm. Since he was inundated with offers from Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, San Diego, (I drew the line at NYC and DC-- just too much of a Southern girl) we didn't even look at it. Places like Roanoke was for the lower half of the class. How condescending and ugly was that. Not to mention Stupid. Now I would love to live in Va. Lexington real estate has soared because of the horse center. We probably can't afford to retire there. I talked to my brother the other day and he seems to be doing well. When I asked about their son, he said he's going to be ok. He's a good ol boy. He lives in Rockbridge County, has a Harley that he roams the mountains with, hunts, fishes, and works as little as possible-- just enough to pay the bills. And it occurs to me that maybe he has it together better than we do.
