The war lasted from 1939-1945. Germans fought war on 2 fronts. The one against russia, outside of Moscow happened in early 1942 turned the tables against them. D-day happened in mid-1944 june. Isn't that standing on the sidelines till late ?
Hitler suicide in april 1945. Atom Bomb in august 1945. My history books focussed a lot more on war in europe and russia played a much earlier and bigger role in hitlers downfall and that Japan was a side-story to Germany. You can certainly make a point about russians/europeans influencing my history book and overstating their role and understating Americas.

First, You claimed I am muslim (which I am not), then are definitive my history books are wrong. Then you have a belief that Islam is not a legitimate religion, even though it appeals to 30% of world-populations. It makes no difference if you put a label 'cult' to it, except probably, justifies to you that it has to be dealt with aggressively. I get the feeling from you posts that you have made up your mind about Islam and Christianity and you really are not interested in any other thoughts.

You didn't addressed my point of how christianity has commited similar number of attrocities (with a different style) as Islam. My point there being - they are both at fault.

FWIW, my approach would be to have an election in Iraq ASAP, get Sistani in (and stop forcing Allawi into power against the will of Iraqi people) and move troops to Afganistan/Pakistan, get Bin Laden/Omar/Zawahari. Meanwhile, get down hard on Israelis and Palestinians (through UN) to come up a final proposal (complete the wall fairly, if it comes down to that). AND COME UP WITH ALTERNATE SOURCE OF ENERGY in next 2 decades and get out of places where we are not trusted and were never trusted and mind our own business or do business with people who want to.

Bum.

As far as fixing the Islamic religion, I think they need to do it for themselves and they need to start by not teaching their children to hate. Hate seems to be the only thing that sustains many of the people in the Middle East.

How many ME people do you know?

How many of these actively teach their children to hate?

Your view is comparable to a ME adult saying that Americans teach their 13 year old kids to have unprotected sex with as many of their neighbors and Junior High School chums as possible, because it is enjoyable. Americans don't teach their kids to do that (as you know), but the media and the statistics (teenage pregnancy and abortion) indicate otherwise.

You may have read some books on Islam, but your knowledge of the real world of which you speak appears quite limited, and your rush to judgment is dangerous. You need to learn more about this subject before you come to such extreme conclusions.

Anyway, as far as the Islamic religion goes, I no longer believe it is a legitimate religion. I think it's more accurately classified as a cult

There are over a billion followers of Islam. How many are terrorists? Thousands? Tens of thousands? How many are radical and support terrorists? Hundreds of thousands? How many have any admiration for or positive feelings about terrorists? Millions, tens of millions? These are signs of trouble in the Islamic world. and trouble bad enough to affect the rest of the world, but it also means there are hundreds of millions of peaceful, reasonably tolerant Muslims. I can't agree with you calling Islam a cult or a bunch of fascists.
