X is entitled to her opinions about partial birth abortions and everything else. I certainly don't expect everyone to agree with me very often, and I love to discuss ideas and sometimes even change my opinions based on new information. Anyone who wants to discuss their feelings, ideas, thoughts, experiences, etc. is very welcome to do at this thread. Or just hang out and be sweet and nice! It has become an extremely tiresome thread to read, however, because most people are just talking about ancient history at SI, providing links to provocative or obnoxious posts, talking about Chinu (who the hell is that? No, don't even try to tell me), ankle biting, writing posts that say absolutely nothing at all, being snide, rude, crude and/or uncultured. I really don't even like the idea of banning posters--it seems so undemocratic. But if you have absolutely nothing interesting to say and you are just hanging out here sniping at people, living under a rock, your days may be severely numbered. I will give everyone a chance to overcome their petty hatreds, bad behavior, etc., but please consider this a warning. This thread was pretty much moribund when I arrived back for a visit, and really I would rather kill it completely than have it be a miserable and petty place. So here are the groundrules: Absolutely no references to previous posts or fights about posts or grudge matches, and no citing previous posts. Time to move on! X and everyone else are welcome here. Personal attacks are not. No stupid little sniping posts that are hideous to read and say nothing or just make fun in a mean way. This is not exclusively a left-wing thread, but liberals and free thinkers are very welcome here, and any right-wing people who just attack vituperatively without saying anything of substance will be banned. All positions and viewpoints, argued articulately and reasonably politely, are welcome. I don't really care what anyone thinks of me, so if you behave really badly and are banned, perhaps you should just start your own thread or something, where you can ban the people you don't care for. It might even be fun. Okay, fresh start, everyone! No one is pre-banned, but there are definitely a few people who I'm watching carefully already. One more chance.
