Yeah, some big moves would be good.

My indicator stock (GLG) is doing extremely well today. I find it's a pretty leading indicator of gold's moves.

So... I'm hopeful, but putting my producer money into NG.

<Except for a few specifics juniors >

Well ABS, CKG, DAE, and VYE are all higher than last December. <g>

If gold has some days of big moves up of 5 to 10 per day, doesn't that also make us subject to possible villent corrective moves of the same or higher volatility. Those won't be fun. How can it be a negative to be going up a little bit here a little bit there almost every day...it creates multiple support levels as we go to keep the chart looking tidy. If we crawl our way to 450 or 460 over the next 3-4 weeks wouldn't that be great?

I see your point about the mining shares...does the gol dindex usually lead the gold price?

"And those two things would be?
1. Erratic move in gold... flirting with resistance is not enough. It need to explode with $5-$10 daily dollar gains
2. Except for a few specifics juniors and rare seniors, stock prices are still below last December peak."

Well Claude, maybe another record trade deficit(probably $56-$58 Billion) that will be announced tomorrow morning is just what the doctor ordered.

<Anyway, what really counts is that discovery can be made at any times. And when a junior put the drill bit in a 3M ounces gold deposit or more, it doesn't matter too much what gold is doing.>

Claude, I agree. I think this is the best environment the junior explorers have experienced in 2004. It seems to me that sentiment towards the gold sector is turning more positive. It also helps when gold closes at $435 near 16 year highs while the US dollar continues its decline.

Many junior explorers are in the midst of aggressive drilling programs and have results and news pending. There should be a flow of news from "Ormetal" companies like XRC, CKG, ABS, VYE, NL, (I could go on and on) during the next two months.

We aren't quite out of the woods yet as you say, and I agree, the current environment may warrant some strong moves for the juniors if they receive positive news.

That was a good call on EPM.U. Now why won't ANO.U do the same thing on no news?! <g>

BTW, I just happened to see your article at Kitco.com. Congratulations! I didn't know you published your writings there.

Cheers,
John
