< am mostly concerned with the fervour that the US will <display in supporting its economy and the fact that the rest <of the world doesn't want to see them crumble either.

I agree... but what can they really do. There is only one way to fix the problem... cut spendings and reduce deficits. But they are going the other way... so doomsday here I come.

<It is OK for all of us to shout "too bad for them there's nothing they can do now to prevent it. They're toast.">

Yes there is something they can do. But it looks like it is too painful.

<They are the world leader and they are inventive and creative <people whom the world must follow. I sure hesitate to bet <against them. I think a bit of insurance is a better way to <play it.

The numbers speak for themselves I think.

<He said no problem..."we'll just take it from you".
I told you they were resourceful Claude.:o)>

Well thank god I am in Quebec. Oops what about our electricity? <LOL> Seriously, they wouldn't do that. That would cost them too much. Impossible.

<Moments later upon reflection at rowing our subs across the <Atlantic, I thought "We're fcucked!".

You got a good point there. <g>

This post is not addressed to any one individual:

US or the dollar doesn't have to collapse for these mining stocks to make investors here a very nice, or even a dramatic return. If you think any one investment class or trend will make you rich beyond your wildest dreams you will probably hold these stocks way beyond their peaks and well into their subsequent downtrends.

How many times must I say we need nukes up here :o) And I say that in the most friendly way ;o) I know no one takes it seriously but they should... alas no one will and it hope it doesn't become a shouldda couldda wouldda....

The Penn guy is right... we exist by the grace of the US only because we are no trouble... and have never had any continental aspirations... This is one issue where I heartily agree with Stratfor because I think they have it bang on...

yeah what a travesty and an embarrassment.. I wonder what Johnny Canuck would say... not to mention all the guys from Vimy, Juno and the merchant fleet...
