Unemployment numbers are relative numbers, not actual.
Clinton didn't include the long term unemployed in his numbers either. Neither do other countries like Canada.

Bush's performance in this area has been outstanding.

I was sold on the open-mindedness of American public.

Judging by the results of this election and the number of dimwits still passionately support Bush's ridiculous actions and policies - a la the guy whom you replied to in that note - I think that observation is extremely overrated.

Remember the rejection of Indira Gandhi at the polls in 1977? By any measure, the Indian electorate - despite being significantly illiterate - is much smarter. IMHO!
