I disagree with his thesis. I think the reason the right uses the media more effectively is that they are willing to lie or distort the truth more than the dems.

That give them an enormous advantage ... dems are part of the "reality based community," and therefore rely on reality to spread their message. The right, on the other hand, has little concern with reality. They find an appealing message and spread it as far and wide as they can, regardless of whether it distorts the truth.

To compete with that, we would have to be willing to lie. I have no problem with propaganda myself, you can't fight fascism without it, but I think most democrats would balk at distorting the truth.

Do you believe that complete load of hogwash?

Take off your tin foil hat, put down the Kool Aid & get a grip.

You have completely lost touch with reality.

Yes.... Sad face as you make it sound like Poison. I have been listening to Sean Hannity,Rush Limbaugh and others in NC at my summer home. The entire afternoon on local radio is consumed by the verbiage of these right wing ideologues who praise everything that the Republicans are doing and are very very denigrating of anything that smells of Democratic.

I could tell you stories of what I hear. The most absurd and off the wall stuff and some prejudicial to certain groups which I think the substitute for Rush just got fired for calling Mexicans WETBACKS on the air.

When I experience something personally it is very hard for me to disbelieve it.. Yes, I guess you would call it losing touch with reality. For me it is reality.

Exactly. This guy has got it: PROPAGANDA WORKS, USE IT! It's not just alternative, independent media (the unvarnished truth is only so useful to Americans) that's important, it's yelling at major media and boycotting their advertisers.

Money talks. When Clear Channel runs Air America, it's clear that money is still more important than politics.

On top of this, once these anti-American evil thugs get power, they redistrict (see chief criminal DeLay in Texas) in order to retain power. That's even worse than pork to stay in power because it leads to permanent pork.
