I give Chretien a ton of credit for his China initiatives... He was at least headed in the right direction...

absolutely. canada should actively pursue increased
trade with countries other than the u.s.a. we need
to take some of our eggs out of that basket.

as far as being a sovereign nation - i should bloody
well hope so but lets just see how cowed we are by
the u.s.a's stance on the question of whether canada
decriminalizes pot.
"oh no, they're going to tighten the borders
<tremble, tremble> if we do".

tightening the border will negatively affect u.s.
border cities as well. we'll adjust.

FOX ? yeah it's biased... but is it the CRTC's job to 'protect' us ?

as far as fox is concerned. HELL YES!
other u.s. programming doesn't necessarily
claim to be news the way fox does.
big difference imo.

Hi Kastel. An interesting point that we "let" the dollar fall. In light of the determination of a strong US dollar, I'm just not sure what we could have done, what it would have cost, or where we would be financially today had we tried. Nevertheless, an interesting point that deserves consideration.

I never agreed with selling our gold, thought it was crazy actually, but Ottawa hasn't listened to me for sometime. <g>

Anyway, I'm about politic'd out for now.

Regards,
