The real problem for the blues is that philadelphia like all blue cities are surrounded by a sea of red towns and suburbs even within each state.

It's not the flyover states that hurts the metroscopes, it is that the Great Unwashed and yokels are practically a 30 minute walk away that drives them to their therapists.

Granted it will take 50yrs for Philly to turn red, but PA had the narrowest election margin of the mid-Atlantic/New England states--check it out:http://news.yahoo.com/electionresults
