Joe, bin Laden lives in Afghanistan, not Iraq.

Joe,

"If the logic is correct, would you not expect the moderates to take up arms against the terrorists, since they are deliberately killing civilians these days?"

Think about this scenerio, where you would be a moderate guy living in Iraq.

You personally know of a kid in the neighborhood who was killed by american bombing. The extremist neighbor, who supports beheading is telling you his side of the story about how cruel these westerners are. they killed 400,000 (it does get exagerrated in the neighborhood gossips) iraqis mostly children and women and old people, when they had done nothing to americans. On top of that you turn on you TV and you find Al-Jazerra giving their perspective in Arabic on the conflict for about 80% of the time. And then when you go to the mosque, you hear Sadr's or Sistanis version and talks about lots of innocent people dead, who used to visit the same mosque, that you knew. And you have a history of Colonials who have occupied you land for generations to bias your perspective and then you have seen pictures of Abu-Grahib prison.

In addition, you turn on your TV and may catch a couple of hours of FOX or CNN english coverage and hear about 1000 US troops killed and 50 people beheaded in Iraq and some of them were red cross worker. Then you hear Allawi (who they haven't selected) talk about how america is there to help. Then you also heard that 3 years ago 3000 people were killed in WTC by Bin Laden, who has nothing to do with Iraq directly and you did not know any of the americans killed personally. And you also have a knowledge of how bad Saddam was and that he is no longer in power.

Which side is an average moderate likely to take up arms against ? I think the locals would win over the moderate hands down.

Bum

PS : BTW, Its 'Bum'. Dictionary meaning : as in A lazy or shiftless person, especially one who seeks to live solely by the support of others. An incompetent, insignificant, or obnoxious person.

It's not 'Burn' as in 'Burn in hell' (-;
