Isn't California one of the states where murderers can't profit from the crime? The victims' other family members get the money.

Mark G and friends will hang around through every possible appeal and every brief until Scotts entire family has given them every dime they have and can borrow. Then they depart. From the current results Scotty would have been just as well off with a public defender. Sad for his family as they will be broke to no avail. If they do not give him death he would be smart to just accept his fate as the next group should as this jury very well may.
