There is a glimmer of hope in that post. Just a glimmer.

The faint ray of light is that you do seem appreciate the distinction between what was then and what is now.

My point from the beginning has been that we should never be judgmental about decisions made in long-ago times when the context is now lost to us, nor should we ignore the difference between a plan and its execution.

Applying your unforgiving, rigid standards, all of the founding fathers who owned slaves were "disgusting" human beings, who instead of being revered should be condemned to "their eternal shame."

It is a heavy burden to feel obliged to act as judge and jury of those who came before you. However, it seems to be your mission to shine the wisdom of your enlightened mind upon all those wretched, depraved souls.

That is an aspect of the liberal mind that one has to love.
