Without any doubt, the Japanese war machine was quite brutal in China and throughout most of Southeast Asia, and one that has been and likely will be the greatest threat to instability in that region. During that period China was very weak or nonexistent except as colonies of the western world and Japan's.

Time and priorities have now changed because the money and the world's wealth creation machine knows where today's and future biggest potential is.

<<That fact really upsets a lot of Chinese, as well as a lot of Southeastern Asians>>

I would not be surprise if Japan will be the equivalent of China's Puerto Rico by end of this century.

The Brits are not exactly happy with the Japanese over WW2 either. A relative in our family was a POW of the Japanese in SEA.

In hindsight though, any nation that has had it's citizens nuked and bombed as much as the Japanese suffered during WW2 has paid the price of it's sins.

Yiwu,

Before pointing fingers, you should consider China's military assistance and unwavering financial support to the Sudanese government. Genocide and rape are happening right now in Sudan - no need to dig up 50 year old history.

Let me guess, you can find this in Chinese textbooks?
