CIA plans to purge its agency

Sources say White House has ordered new chief to eliminate officers who were disloyal to Bush

I wonder if the definition of "disloyal" will include those who failed to tell the administration what it wanted to hear. An intelligence officer should ideally place loyalty to the truth above loyalty to the administration.

Tensions between the White House and the CIA have been the talk of the town for at least a year, especially as leaks about the mishandling of the Iraq war have dominated front pages.

I bet. Can you just imagine how the White House feels? First the CIA gives you the bum information that leaves you hung out to dry with the cries of "liar, liar, pants on fire!" from the opposition, then this same CIA actively works against you and for the opposition candidate!
